Pro-Poor Legislative Lobbying At National Level

In view of our commitment to pro-poor issues, we have engaged the National Assembly in advocating and lobbying for some legislation, which affects the lives of the poor meaningfully and directly. Some of the laws, we lobbied the National Assembly for legislation along with other civil society groups are:

The Public Procurement Act, 2007
The Fiscal Responsibility Act, 2007
The Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative Act, 2007
The Freedom of Information Act
The 1999 Constitutional Amendment Act
The Nigeria Oil and Gas Content Development Act
The Electoral Act Amended Bill
Others

There are Bills, which NDEBUMOG is particularly interested and would continue to advocate and lobby National Assembly until such are eventually legislated upon. Some are:

    The Whistle Blowers Protection Bill
    The Petroleum Industries Bill
    Amendment of Constitution for Local Governments Autonomy
    Others

 THE NIGER DELTA BUDGET MONITORING GROUP’s HEAD OFFICE HAVE ENGAGED AND RECEIVED PRO-POOR RELATED COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY AND OTHER MDAs SINCE OUR INCEPTION TILL DATE. SOME OF THE NON-SENSITIVE COMMUNICATIONS ARE LISTED BELOW:
