Outside generalized fiscal responsibility campaigns for allocational equity, NDEBUMOG engages in fiscal justice activities for communities. It means pursuing a project or programme in the budget assigned or allocated to a particular community, which has not been executed. We assist communities with information on such projects and programmes, facilitates access for communities with implementing government agencies. We have drawn attention of sub national (states) government to projects and programmes that Federal Government has allocated monies, even when such projects and programmes has already been executed by a sub national government. There are instances, where projects and programmes are not labelled by executing agencies/departments, giving room to a situation that others claimed projects and programmes they never executed, leaving “benefitting” communities “confused”, due to absence of labelling/branding. We have intervened in projects or programmes of the Federal Government that two ministries appropriated monies (un) intentionally in a single year’s budget circle and caused government to halt and investigate the circumstance. There are provable instances that the national assembly and government invited NDEBUMOG to provide concrete evidence and intelligence for investigations. We will continue to pursue fiscal justice for communities, including, facilitations of access towards it, besides, campaigns for allocations equity.
